Hi, I’m 20 years old now, and have been cutting myself in some form since I was 8. Although it has taken me a while, the urge to cut has subsided quite a bit, and I would like to let all of you know that although cutting is such a convenient escape… it is just that, an escape, there are other ways to deal, and there are always people to talk to. At this point in my life cutting has brought me nothing but a ton of hospital, shrink, and medicine bills and also a lot of permanent scars, some that even plastic surgeons can’t fix. So, please, before you let cutting escalate too far, try to think of your life 10 years from now, or even think of your family and friends, I definitely took a couple years off my parents’ lives.
