- S.A.F.E. Alternatives (US) SAFE Alternatives® (Self-Abuse Finally Ends) is a nationally recognized treatment approach, professional network and educational resource base, which is committed to helping you and others achieve an end to self-injurious behavior. 1-800-DONTCUT (1-800-366-8288).
- The Cassel Hospital (UK) - Has both adolescent and adult services.
- Kennedy Krieger Institute (US) - Mentions self injury on its website but the focus seems to be on self injury combined with autism.
- Life Healing Center of Santa Fe (US) - They have a quick overview of what they do.
- National Treatment Center for Trauma Recovery (US) - Del Amo Hospital offers this program. You can read about the program components and try their questionnaire.
- River Oaks Hospital (US) - See their compulsive behaviors program and the old page for their Masters and Johnson treatment programs.

- S.A.F.E. in BC (CA) “Based in Vancouver, Canada, S.A.F.E. in B.C. is oriented towards both the Health Care Professional and those affected by Self-Harm.”
- Butler Hospital - Offers the Women’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program.
- Guide to Psychotherapists in Private Practice - A list of therapists who work with self harmers. From the Mental Health Association in Tompkins County
- The Healing House - Provides therapeutic services to self-injurers, their families and all interested parties by guiding them on a healing journey.
- Richard Marshall, Consultant Clinical Psychologist - Offers individual therapy. Very comprehensive site with lots of links and resources.
- River Centre Clinic - Has the Intensive Day Treatment Program which, though focused on eating disorders, also handles depression, self injury etc.
- SAFE in Canada - Offers help to self injurers, their families and the professionals who treat them.
- SLBMI Self-Injury Program - This program at the Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute offers treatment based on dialectical behavior therapy. It uses a combination of individual therapy, group therapy and family consultations.
- Southern Community Welfare - Offers support groups for people who self-injure and workshops for professionals.

Removing/Reducing Scars
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery has a referral and information hotline: 800-441-2737. In some cases plastic surgery can fade or erase scars.
- American Society for Dermatologic Surgery - Also has a section with before and after photos of various procedures.
- Ask the Experts - Doctor answers a question on keloid scar removal.
- B A Bloomer - Directory of clinics who perform scar removal.
- Body Würks - Fact sheet on scars and scarring.
- Scar information Service - Provides information on scars and scar therapies. Has a comprehensive list of resources. This site is run by the company which manufactures Cica-Care (see below).
If you have tried any of the products in the listing below, please let me know if they work or not; I would like to include notes on how effective the products are.
- Cica-Care - Can be used to treat keloid scars. I have not tried this product.
- Mederma® Skin Care for Scars™ - The company claims this product can reduce scars. I have not tried this product.
- ScarTherapy - Curad claims this product can make scars appear less visible. I have not tried this product.

FYI: In the state of New Hampshire The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester has a large DBT program that offers help to those who would like to learn alternative coping strategies outside of SI. Their site is at www.mhcgm.org.
