User Feedback
Psyke.org generates a lot of email, positive and negative. Here is a small sample of what visitors have to say:
I stumbled across your site while doing a paper for a psychology class and I must say I wish it was around in the late 80’s.
I’m a ‘recovered’ self-abuser and while reading the some of the stories and peeking in on some of the conversations in the chat rooms, it all came rushing back.
I think it’s great that your site exists for those who are willing to take advantage of it. You have done a noble thing here and I just wanted to let you know.
I hope that these kids know that there is a future out there in which cutting (or any other form of self-abuse) doesn’t have to exist. The world can be a truly amazing place, if only they would allow themselves the chance to see it.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I think you’ve done a great thing.

I’ve browsed your site quite a few times and I appreciate what you’ve done. It has helped me with my habits of SI and I’m sure it has helped many more.

What is Wrong With Most of These Self Proclaimed SI’ers
I’m sorry to be the one to point this out, but why advocate what is nothing more than petty cries for help?
Most of the people whose websites you have links, their stories run deeper than you can imagine (or maybe you have figured this out).
They gripe about how lousy and worthless they are and then go on to explain all the joys of life.
Where is the crappiness of the life they so despise?
If it were some chemical imbalance (schizophrenia, bipolar, unipolar, depression (not brought on by a self induced psychosis) I would see the need to seek therapy, not the attention of the world.
